Villaverde which means green village is situated just over 12 km from Corralejo along the main road to La Olivia.

It is a pretty little Canarian village which has escaped the recent tourist boom in Corralejo. The surrounding hills are scattered with small homes, many of which have been snapped up by expats who prefer the quiet life up there in the Montains.

There are a few excellent restaurants to choose from in the village including El Horno and El Rancho which are well worth a visit. Just outside the village is La Rosita, an agricultural museum set in 250 000sq. m of Cactus gardens. Casa Marcos is closer to the centre of the village and sells a selection of local crafts and pottery. The “Cueva del Llano” cave is situated on the right hand side on the way into the village coming from Corralejo and has an information and visitor centre.
